A Loved One Has Fallen Asleep in The Lord - Kiriaki Loparnos

Kiriaki Loparnos, 86, of Avgonima Chios, fell asleep peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 4th, 2021 in Tarpon Springs.

Kiriaki was born in Avgonima, Chios, Greece to Nicholaos and Theodora Mourounas on June 16, 1934. She married Vasilios Loparnos in 1954 who preceded her in death in 2016. Together with their two children they immigrated to America in 1970. After living in Brooklyn for many years, they settled in Tarpon Springs with their children and grandchildren. Kiriaki was devoted to her family and joyfully cared for them.


Kiriaki is survived by daughter Evelyn (Nick) Georgakakis and son Peter Loparnos. Granddaughters Sandy Chambers, Nikki (Jose) Santiago, Kiki Loparnos, and grandson Vasilios Loparnos.

Blessed with four great grandchildren Evangelia & Kosta Chambers and Emanolia & Nicholaos Santiago.


Visitation will be 4:30-7:00 PM Tuesday, June 8th at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, FL 34683.


Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday June 9th, 2021 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Fr. Athanasios officiating. Burial will follow at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home. 


The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Suncoast Hospice for their exceptional care and support. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Suncoast Hospice or St. Nicholas Philoptochos.
