A Loved One Has Fallen Asleep in The Lord - Cimos Angelis

Cimos Angelis, age 59, fell asleep on October 16, 2021.  He was the son of Angelo Cimos Angelis and Thomaitsa Angelis, of Tarpon Springs, Florida.  Cimos was born and raised in his beloved town of Tarpon Springs.  He was a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School and St. Pete College, going on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida.   As part of a select group of scholars, Cimos studied abroad at Oxford University and The University of Thessaloniki.  He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University Law School, graduating with honors.  He worked as a Pinellas County Public defender for many years and later in private practice dedicating his life to the law and serving those in need.
Cimos made it his life’s mission to help everyone he could.  His generous spirit matched his unrivaled wit and intellect.  His heart was huge, his personality was huge, and his presence a gift. Cimos answered the call 24 hours a day for everyone in the community in times of crisis. He provided counsel, support, and guidance to all that were in need. Cimos was a favorite son of the entire Tarpon Springs community. If you did not know and love him, meant you had not had the honor of meeting him. The echoes of his amazing story telling will live in the hearts of all his family and friends for generations to come.  He was fiercely dedicated to his loving family and leaves behind his brother, Jackey Angelis; sister, Mary Ann Angelis; niece, Thomaitsa Petru and nephew, Miros Petru. He also leaves behind many extended family members, numerous Godchildren, devoted lifelong friends, and an entire generation that loved and adored their Theo (Uncle) Cimos.
His love of the Lord through his Greek Orthodox faith sustained him through his life. “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 There are no words to describe his positive impact on everyone he met, but the world was an infinitely brighter place with Cimos Angelis in it.
He lived to serve others. He brought joy and laughter. He loved unconditionally. He will never be forgotten. May his memory be eternal.
