The mission of the St. Nicholas Dance Ministry is to promote our Greek traditions while instilling responsibility, building self-esteem, encouraging teamwork, and inspiring new friendships among the children and young adults within each group. Part of our goal is to develop productive members of society and thus a productive Christian society.
The Dance Ministry focuses on traditional Greek dances while integrating the region, history and purpose of each dance. Our instructors take great care to find dances that are appropriate for each group.
Our St. Nicholas Dancers perform at various church and community functions throughout the year. These include festivals, holiday specials and our annual dance, where they showcase their talents. Some years, our older groups participate in the Hellenic Dance Festival (HDF), per our Atlanta Metropolis. The St. Nicholas Dance Ministry has earned several first and second place medals at this event.
